Q & A
Q: Can I make this ahead of time?
✔ Yes! Best made 1 day ahead. Add tomato jam just before serving or up to 6 hours ahead.
Q: Can I freeze savory cheesecake?
✔ Yes (without tomato jam). Wrap tightly and freeze up to 1 month. Thaw overnight in the fridge.
Q: Why did my cheesecake crack?
- Overmixing (too much air)
- Oven too hot
- Skipped gradual cooling
Cracks don’t affect taste—tomato jam covers everything!
Q: Can I use ricotta instead of cream cheese?
✔ Partially. Replace up to ⅓ of the cream cheese with well-drained ricotta for a lighter texture.
Q: Is this served cold or warm?
Best chilled or cool room temperature—it slices better and tastes richer.
Q: What can I serve it with?
- Crostini or crackers
- Arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette
- Charcuterie boards
- As a gourmet brunch centerpiece
Pro Tips
- Use room-temperature ingredients for the smoothest texture.
- Don’t skip chilling—it transforms the flavor and firmness.
- For extra depth, add 1 tsp miso or ¼ tsp anchovy paste to the filling (optional, very savory).
